ForeScout Recognized in 2010 Magic Quadrant for Network Access Control

Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute
ForeScout Technologies, a leading provider of network access control (NAC) for Fortune 1000 enterprises and government organizations, announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc, in the “Visionary” quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Network Access Control”.

Highlights
The report highlighted “consumerization of IT” as well as targeted botnet attacks as trends that are driving NAC adoption. According to Gartner: “Because employee-owned laptops or smartphones will typically not have corporate endpoint security software on them, stand-alone NAC capabilities will see higher demand.” *

Gord Boyce, President and CEO of ForeScout, said: “Enterprises dealing with the “consumerization” effect have been coming to ForeScout for a solution. Our stand-alone NAC product can identify and characterize every machine on the network – including personal laptops and other consumer devices which lack enterprise security agents. We believe ForeScout’s recognition as a visionary within Gartner's Magic Quadrant provides further confirmation of ForeScout’s market position and ability to deliver a feature-rich security solution.”

ForeScout was a pioneer of post-connect containment and currently includes post-connect containment in all of its NAC products.

ForeScout’s patented ActiveResponse™ technology identifies and contains devices in real time that exhibit dangerous or threatening behavior after they have been connected to the network.
